This interview explores her journey, the philosophy behind her minimalist design, and her commitment to nurturing lasting client relationships.
What attracted you to Zurich, and why did you decide to open your beauty salon here?
Kasia Jop: I was enchanted by the city’s elegance and tranquility, combined with its openness to innovation. Zurich uniquely blends cosmopolitan life with nature, fostering a holistic approach to health and beauty that resonates with me. My previous work in hospitality taught me the importance of excellent customer care, yet I longed for deeper, more personal connections. Opening my salon was a decision years in the making—it’s the realization of my passions. Beyond improving appearances, I aim to enhance overall well-being and inner harmony. Relocating to Zurich marked a new chapter, and launching the salon was the natural next step.
How does the minimalist design of your salon influence the atmosphere and client experience?
Kasia Jop: Minimalism in design creates a clear and functional space that eliminates distractions. By limiting decorative elements, we emphasize the purpose of each visit. The understated color palette and natural materials foster a sense of calm, while the tailored lighting enhances the relaxing ambiance. Many clients remark that they immediately feel at ease upon entering. I want each appointment to serve not only as an aesthetic treatment but also as a moment of true relaxation and rejuvenation—hence the name ‘Comfort Zone by JOP.’
Which stages in your education and professional development were most influential in your specialization in aesthetic medicine?
Kasia Jop: My journey began with studies in medical cosmetology, which provided a strong theoretical foundation. Advanced courses in both invasive and non-invasive techniques followed, complemented by hands-on experience alongside seasoned specialists. Today, I continually attend conferences and workshops to remain at the forefront of new methods and standards—a constant process that demands dedication and adaptability.
How do you build long-lasting relationships with your clients?
Kasia: Every client has unique expectations and concerns, so it’s crucial they feel truly heard. Relationship-building starts with that initial conversation where I learn about their motivations and goals. I ensure that each visit is more than a formality by engaging in genuine dialogue—often asking about their daily lives and interests. These small gestures create an atmosphere of trust and mutual understanding, transforming the salon into a welcoming space where clients feel accepted and valued.
What values and principles guide you in running your business, especially as an immigrant starting anew in a different country?
Kasia: Honesty, professionalism, and authentic care form the bedrock of my business. As an immigrant, I understand the challenges of adapting to a new environment. I strive to create a space where everyone feels accepted. Community building is essential to me. At the same time, I am committed to continuous improvement, staying abreast of innovations and expanding my qualifications. I cherish diversity—both cultural and personal—believing that every individual’s story enriches our salon.
